How to Play?  

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAYERS:

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

The easiest way for new Players to become familiar with the game is:

FIRST

  1. go to the Session Calendar page - link is on the left of your screen - (this is the list of Games by date and time), pick a Game, and book it (hit ‘Register Now’ button),
  2. go to your Account Chamber page - a link will appear as a glowing BLUE PILLOW when it is time to play the game - click the blue pillow – it’s easy – you will be transported to the Game library - as soon as your game goes live (when the horn sounds) you can click on the crosswords around the shelves - solve clues and answer general knowledge questions

 Remember - All times on this site are governed by the GMT Clock bottom left of the screen

In the Library there are little flashing tags - Roll your mouse over them – links will appear.
Each of these links is a Crossword or Knowledge Question Set. These are the puzzles you will be playing. Click them once the horn sounds to indicate that the game has started.

Once the Game commences a horn sounds - Then the links are live.

Click on a a Crossword or a Knowledge Question Set link to begin solving and earning points.

Once a Crossword word, or a Knowledge Question is answered correctly it is locked for all players and the player who successfully solved the word \ answer gets the score added to their Game score. 

HOW DO I WIN? -

You win Session Points (points you score during a Game) by filling in Crosswords and answering Knowledge Questions. Player with most Session Points at the end of that Game time wins - there is a scores box which you can open and which shows the top ten scores in your game.

You can go back to the Library using the 'BACK' button, and open as manyCrosswords or Knowledge Question Sets as you want - they will be minimised on your screen.

If you want to go back to a crossword you have been working on earlier - click the restore button at the bottom of your playing screen and all the Crosswords you have opened will be there to re-open if you want.

Also in the game are chat boxes for you to use, as well as the scores information so you can see how other players in the Session are doing.

If you have a special friend playing the same Game then double click their name in the chatbox and you will have a separate private chatbox opened just for the two of you.

Also there is the search tool so you can look things up on the internet, a letter scrambler to mix up words, and a timer telling you how long to go in the Session.
